Hi Jim,
Great knowledge you seem to have on that matter !
Quickly, i m willing to resale Mini-ITX Motherboard. Some models accept Notebook mem. and other Desktop mem, their price is similar.
What I would like to know now from you, how do both types compare over the last year(s)…
Does Notebook Mem becomes cheaper than Desktop equivalent size/speed ? or will Desktop beat Notebook mem price ?
Or is there such a dif, thatit is impossible to say, becoz of types and sizes… ?
Thanks…
It’s really impossible to say, as each RAM and memory type is different, I’ve seen big ram price drops over the years in both desktop and notebook memory. One thing I can tell you is that over time and year over year, ram prices will and do drop in price.
I want to upgrade my MBP from 4 to 8GB RAM. Ramjet makes a distinction of having unstacked RAM vs SODIMM. Does it make a difference?
Not that I’m aware of. Just buy cheap RAM for MacBook Pro and you’ll do just fine.
Hi, what happened to the old ramseeker’s ability to search for ram for older models? I can’t seem to find price charts for anything but the latest models on your new site. Am I missing something?
Brian, you’re not missing anything. Unfortunately demand for RAM for older Macs has dwindled to the point where the ROI on keeping track of RAM for the older Macs just was not worth the effort anymore. That said, you’re welcome to contact me and I’ll do the best to help you with your memory upgrades for discontinued Apple computers.
