Welcome to ramseeker.

I have been tracking and monitoring Apple Memory Prices from reputable third party vendors you see above for 13 years to date and have helped many many Apple Macintosh users over the years and saving them money on Apple Memory Upgrades in the process

If you've come this far, you've already missed most of the good stuff but let me help you find the right memory for your Apple Computer.

First, it helps if you know what type of Apple Computer you have, or plan to buy if you're in the market for a new Apple computer. If you've got a newer mac and it's still current and scroll back up the page and use the pull down menu that says Start Here for Apple Memory and you'll see about eight or so options: iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook, Mac Pro and so on. The first eight or so are always current models from Apple and then below you'll see discontinued models that even though Apple has replaced these - I still track and monitor the apple memory prices for these models. Just because you've got an older Mac doesn't mean it's obsolete and adding memory to the older Apple machines is just as important as installing ram in the newer Mac models.

Every Computer ever made can benefit from a ram uprade. Having enough memory is the very best upgrade you can provide andwith today's prices especially you should. The cost to upgrade most models to maximum capacity is under $100 these days.

About Buying RAM or Memory from the Apple Store

First, I have no issues with Apple. I've been an Apple Fan since time began and love their products. But you can do much better on price for memory for your mac by buying it from a third party memory vendor and on many occasion I have had notes from readers that even Apple themselves have suggested that they check out ramseeker.com for memory upgrades for their new or old Apple Computer. I can't think of a better place for the recommendation to come from than the mother ship itself. :)

And that's how ramseeker started, and continues to operate to this day. Apple charges a premium price for their memory upgrades and always has and probably always will. They usually can't beat the third party memory vendors that I list on price. And that's why you're here too -to find the best price you can.

Is All Memory the same?

Yes, and no. Memory usually falls into two categories: Generic and Name Brand. Most memory vendors carry two different options for you to chose from when you're ready to make your memory purchase.  It's always been my policy to monitor the ram prices with the generic memory or the lowest price. You're here becuase you want the best price on Apple Memory - not becuase of the fancy Web 2.0 graphics or other distractions. You're not here to makefriends on facebook. You're here becuase you found me through either a referral from another website or a search engine query related to way about apple memory. You want ram prices and that is all I deliver. Specifically Apple Memory

Back to the Question: Most RAM is the same. It's all made to certain minimum specifications and is supported and stood behind the manufacturer and memory vendor. All the memory vendors I list on the page have been with me online and in business for 13+ years and all offer great customer support.  I can and do fully recommend any and all memory vendors you see listed above.

Memory Modules VS Memory KITS.

You might notice two different pages for memory for some memory upgrades I list. For example: iMac Memory Modules and iMac Memory Kits. The reason for this is due to the fact that some Apple computer models require (or at least it's suggested) memory to be installed in matched pairs  - or kits. Some of the memory vendors chose to list the memory for these apple models in memory kits, while others chose to list memory prices per module and assume that you'll order two - either you will already know this, or the vendor's website will state this for your particular apple model that a matched memory pair is required.  There is no differnce between memory modules or memory kits for apple computers other than how they are marketed. You'll either need to buy one memory kit or two (or sometimes more) memory modules.

What type of RAM do I need?

I list memory by memory type, or speed. Unlike some other manufacturers Apple names pretty much all their models the same year after year after year, regardless if they've had a new release or not. So how do you tell the models apart? If you check some of the pages of the vendors, they might differntiate by year the apple computer was realeased. An example might be : Apple MacBook Pro (Fall 2008).

But I prefer to list the models by memory type. If you don't know what type of memory you need or require, it's best to click through tosome of the memory vendors offer memory configurators or small programs you can run on your computerthat will tell you the exact memory type you need. Unfortunately, I don't have the resources to offer a apple computer memory configurator but every memory vendor I list has some solution to help you find the best memory. If you do need help figuring out what memory type you need you're welcome to contact me and ask, but you're best to confirm it with the vendor anyway.

You're not buying the memory from me. I'm just trying to help you get a fair price. You still have to do your homework. I list memory for all apple models. Even those models long discontinued and some may consider obsolete. Chances are though, you've got a newer Mac model you want to upgrade the memory on such as a MacBook or MacBook Pro or iMac or Mac Pro and you're looking to max out your memory. If you do need memory upgrades for an older Apple Mac that's still got some life in it, just use the scrolling menu at the top left corner of this page and chose the discontinued models.

To determine what memory you need for your new mac, use the pull down menu to find the model and type of memory that you need and then when you're ready - cick through using either the vendors name, or click on the memory module price and you'll be taken to the memory vendor's site where you can place your order

About the memory price tracking I do.

Some price trackers aren't really price trackers at all - the vendors upload a price list to the site and the site just reports that price list. It's a feed. The vendors send a feed and the pricetrackers report what they're told. Not here. I call 'em as I see 'em. If a memory price is listed on the vendor's page, then that'sthe price I list. The only exception to this is that some vendors have setup special pricing just for you dear ramseeker visitor, and when you click the link fram ramseeker to their site you get the special memory deal I worked out just for you.

That's the price I track and list. Ramseeker gets updated every few hours and checks all memory vendors memory prices on all Apple Macintosh Models every few hours - you can check the time last updated at the top of the page. With rare exceptions, the last memory price changed just a few hours ago. There's times when I miss a price and it's showing lower or higher than it should be, but over the past dozen years I've been pretty good with the memory prices being spot on and matching the memory price on the vendors site. If you do see a price mistake, do let me know. There's over 2000 memory prices I monitor most days. It's possible one will fall through the cracks from time to time.

If you are still reading this I thank you for visting ramseeker and I hope you find the apple memory price you want and need. I can recommend the following vendodrs as they have been in business for over 10 years and support the macintosh community. By making your purchase through any of the links on ramseeker you're helping me continue to help you at no cost to you when you make your purchase. Thanks for reading - Jim
