Save over $100 off the Toshiba Satellite R845-S85 14.0-Inch LED Laptop

best price toshiba dealThe Toshiba Satellite R845-S85 14.0-Inch LED Laptop might not be the cheapest notebook you can buy and even with the sale price of $747 and change this is still a great notebook to consider for a few reasons, and the first is that the 14 inch display might just end up being the sweet spot when it comes to choosing what size screen to buy for your next notebook purchase. At 13.3 inches you get the portablility and light weight that’s bigger than a netbook computer but still offers a full size keyboard and with 15.6 inch notebooks the issued becomes weight, as these notebooks can come in at close to six pounds and that’s a lot of weight to carry around all day.

The Toshiba Satellite R845-S85 is all not just about screen size, and with a street price closer to $1000 you should expect a lot when it comes to processing power and this tiny Toshiba does not disappoint with a fast Intel Core i5-2430M Processor 2.4 GHz processor, that with the included Turbo Boost Technology can go as fast as 3.0Ghz. RAM on this little Toshiba is a very respectable 6GB of RAM right out of the box and you may find it not worth the trouble of a ram upgrade for the Toshiba Satellite R845-S85 as 6GB of RAM in late 2011 is a respectable amount of memory when you buy a new computer this year. Storage wise, the Toshiba ships with a 640GB hard drive and a hard drive impact sensor to keep your data safe. This is stuff that just isn’t available on cheaper lower priced notebooks. Do you need to buy turbo boost ana 3d hard drive sensors? That’s up to you but if you get your work done with the Toshiba, the Toshiba Satellite R845-S85 might just be the brand new notebook you were looking for.

I can’t end this without writing about the battery life on the Satellite R845-S85 and is one feature that far outlasts the competition when it comes to getting your work done on the road without having to rely on the AC adapter for your notebook power. Most other notebooks run out of juice about 2 hours or so from a full charge, but the Toshiba Satellite R845-S85 runs on battery for up to ten hours. This is fantastic battery life for a full featured Windows 7 notebook today.

Toshiba Satellite R845-S85 Memory Upgrades.

As I mentioned before, the 6GB of RAM that comes from the factory installed might just be enough for your needs and if all you will do with this notebook is surf the web and facebook, the 6GB will do you just fine, but for everybody else you should upgrade the RAM on the Toshiba Satellite R845-S85 all the way to the maximum of 8GB. A 4gb module to replace the 2GB from the factory should only cost you $20 or so and considering the original price of the Toshiba Satellite R845-S85 adding another 4GB for a few dollars more seems to me like a sensible thing to do.
