What is the best ram vendor for Mac Memory?

Crucial Upgrade

What is the best memory vendor for Mac Memory? That’s a question I get asked a lot so I thought I should have a stab at answering the question

My answer: There isn’t one.  If there were, everybody would drive the same car or live in the same city or same house.

Every memory vendor is different. Some memory vendor brand themselves as big corporations (they are)  and some claim to be the world’s biggest memory store on the internet, yet others offer to beat any price on ram you can find online. Others don’t care about you but just profit so price their memory upgrades at ridiculous prices to match their quite ridiculous pricing margin. Other vendors support the online mac community – save for a few  most of this do this as a hobby or passion. Myself for example. I do this because I enjoy helping people get a good deal on memory products.

I could argue that ramseeker is the best place to compare memory prices, but my comptetiors offer  features I don’t and vise versa.

And it’s the same with memory stores. Each store is different. Some compete on price while others are happy to price  more in the middle of the road area and let the price conscious (and usually higher maintenance) customers go to somebody else. These memory vendors are more about the quality of sales and service  as opposed to being the price leader when it comes to memory upgrades.

Another interesting  thing to mention is that the leaders in the lower prices tend to disappear. I have seen some companies go the way of the dodo bird over the past 13 years I’ve been doing this. So now that you’ve bought memory from the vendor  and the lifetime gaurantee is worthless – now what? But maybe it was more important for you to save the ten bucks and buy the cheapest ram, which you got.

So it’s hard to say which is the best memory vendor.

I can list the memory prices and report to you the cheapest prices as that seems to be a popular request in the internet age when everybody is so price consious but don’t  forget to consider value.

Value is different for each person too. What’s valuable  to you?  For  me,  I’d  pay more knowing the return policy is rock solid and I get the white glove “yes Mr. Fitzsimmons” treatment. I value that and unless priced extraordinarily and outrageous will pay a little more to get it than the cheapest price. You might think that I’m nuts to pay more when all ram is the same but  I’m not you and you’re not me.

And that’s what makes this world so interesting. :)

I can’t recommend one best vendor for ram, but what I can do is show you some memory stores I would buy from without hesitation. All memory vendors I list are honorable and stand behind their product and services.

Hey, thanks for stopping by. I hope you had fun, killed time at work or whatever else you intended to do. Feel free to contact me if you have questions or comments. Of course, my main objective has always been to get you the best prices on memory upgrades but for everything else I find that Amazon is hard to beat when it comes to the lowest prices on pretty much everything else – I ask that you support ramseeker by shopping at Amazon for the best prices on all the other items you may need.
Thanks, Jim
